T5 HO Fluorescent Lamp Colormax

Coralife Energy Savers ACL80418 Colormax T5ho Bulb 48-Inch 54wI have this bulb in front and a 6700k bulb in back to make my plants grow. My tank is high, like 22". When the fish swim within the top 12" to 16", this bulb makes their colors look soooo much deeper and richer. Power blue and dwarf gouramis look irradescent. Cherry shrimp glow bright red and red wag platties and swordtails have deep oranges. The powder blue gouramis look kinda lame in petsmart under the normal lights and I was kicking myself on the way home for buying it, but once it swam near the colormax bulb, I was glad I got him. One of my favorite fish now.

I was pretty skeptical that a bulb could make much difference to the colors of fish. I figured it was just another one of those things they market to get more money out of you, but this thing actually is worth the money.

I have had it 6 months now, on for 9 hrs a day and it is still working fine. (Knock on wood)

Pet Kelp Skin and Coat Formula

Pet Kelp Skin and Coat FormulaI have a 7 year old Beagle who has suffered his whole life with severe seasonal skin allergies. Hot spots would start to develop in spring when things began to bloom and last until the end of fall/early winter when things start to die off and freeze over. There were a couple of times when he had to go on antibiotics for infections caused by itching and chewing so much.

I started giving him Pet Kelp Skin & Coat a couple of months ago and I am happy to say that we are nearing the end of May, things are blooming like crazy and NO HOT SPOTS. Not one. He is blissfully unaware that the pollen is exploding around him. He spends half the day outside rolling around in the grass and then sleeps through the night without a care.

I am relieved. I was at my wits end trying to come up with new ways to keep him comfortable during (his) worst parts of the year. I hated taking him to the vet to be shaved, cleaned and medicated. This is, (for us), a great product. I don't know what I would have done if it hadn't been effective. I've tried just about everything else.

Not once did my pet not want to eat his food with the kelp on it. After about 1 month, he stopped biting at himself and he's coat is so shinny.

Aquarius AQ10724 Aquarium Fish Net with 10" x 7" Net & Stainless Steel Handle

Aquarius AQ10724 Aquarium Fish Net with 10' x 7' Net & Stainless Steel HandleThis net is fabulous. Very sturdy metal and wont bend. I used it to transport my gigantic Oscars from my 55 gallon tank to the 125 gallon one. A truely great product.

Poor construction. Handle falls of the net after A FEW times of using. The only fish I can catch in my aquarium are either the dead/very sick ones. The product is too poor to catch live fish. What a joke. Highly not recommended!

Panacea 70005 River Rock, Mix Color, 2 PoundsReceived the items very quickly. The rocks were exactly what I ordered and looked just like the photograph

I am helping my bf make a DIY custom Terrarium and I am doing the design portion of it. I couldn't find any rocks that were a suitable size for a decent price until now. All the rocks in the pet stores are tiny and these rocks from this seller were perfect in every way. Big thanks to the seller!!!!!

HQRP Blue + White Aquarium Reef Corals Grow LED Light Panel 13.8W 150 White + 70 Blue LED 7000K / 4

HQRP Blue + White Aquarium Reef Corals Grow LED Light Panel 13.8W 150 White + 70 Blue LED 7000K / 460 nm + UV TesterI am very pleased with this product. You cannot find a light like this for the price. My corals love the bright light. I hung it above my tank from a hook that only took a few minutes to install.

Thanks!

The unit is very cheapily made. After only about 1 month of use many of the LEDS went out. The LEDs used are way to weak to "grow" corals as the seller claims. I would avoid this product.

I would never try this on my reef tank as there is no way it's powerful enough to supplement the light needed for coral growth. I used it on my freshwater tank for a while with no splash and one line of blue went out. The plants seem to like it but it looks more blue than white which is also a bummer.

from some 1 that knows

for 14 watts this thing is great using it on a saltwater tank i would give it a 9 out of 10

the only bad thing is that i think it could be a bit more water tight keep in mind that im using it on a aquarium and not as a plant lite

i used in the past

LEDwholesalers High Power WHITE + BLUE LED Aquarium Reef corals grow light. 250 watt not as bright but very close and its 14watt

and no loud fan

Marineland ML Double Bright LED Light and Aqua Medic Metal Halide + T5 Ocean Light Fixture

on a 225 gal aquarium i now use 2 of the HQRP Blue + White Aquarium Reef Corals Grow LED Light Panel 13.8W 150 White + 70 Blue LED 7000K / 460 nm + UV Tester

and

1 Full Spectrum Light Bulb ALZO 85 watt CFL 5500K daylight balanced pure white light 4250 Lumens for power ..In a 5 gal bucket

for a tot of 113 watts i was using well over 1200 watts and now so far this is much better

i have this on a refugium running 8 hrs a day, they are low output LED's so don't expect it to blind you or bleach coral. my only complaint is the one they sent me is 50/50 blue to white. i'd put the color spectrum around 16k

Running this for about a week on my 140 gallon tank. No problems so far, and easy setup. Strong output, not too much different from the FX5.

Want Fluval Fx6 Aquarium Canister Filter Discount?

Installed this filter yesterday on my 120 gallon heavily stocked salt water, after a much needed 70% water change to replace my two Fluval AquaClear 110's. So first things first; the unit was relatively easy to assemble and install, although the hosing clips did present a bit of a struggle, and had to be "manhandled" to fit over the frame, the hosing itself was rather stubborn as well, though, thankfully, there was plenty of it. Followed instructions to the t, plugged the unit in after priming it, it did its thing, turning off after filling to expell any trapped air, and has been running ( extremely quietly) since. Now with the two 150 gallon seaclone skimmers I have on the tank (which kick ass by the way), I would have expected my tank to clear overnight, but that did not happen, we are now in day 2, and the water is still cloudy (the kind of cloudy that you can tell is on the verge of clearing but not quite there yet), granted I did clean out both of the skimmers completely yesterday as well and they are now in proccess of "breaking in". Still I have to admit I expected more, so I tested my water parameters, and nothing too amazing there either: .25ppm ammonia, 0 nitrite, 20ppm nitrate, which isn't bad considering I cleaned out the entire sandbed, stirring up some unsavory debris, and scrubbed all the ornaments, still with the top of the line brand new canister rated for up to 400 gallons, I have to say I had expected much more. Final line is I've had similar if not identical performance from my two Fluval AquaClear 110's, perhaps better, that have previously cleared murky water after a big water change overnight. Not too impressed.

Sicce Syncra 3.0 Aquarium Pump, 714gph

Sicce Syncra 3.0 Aquarium Pump, 714gphI'm a little hesitant to write this review as it's not a positive one and it seems that most people are quite happy with the product so maybe I got a defective one? I have no idea but I speak the truth on what's happening. This thing is not silent at all. I guess I fell prey to "silent" being in the name and chose it but if this is silent I would hate to hear a loud one. The pump is fully submerged. Water going in and out I guess is silent but the vibration created by the pump is HUGE. It vibrates the entire plumbing outake running through the aquarium which then vibrates the wood stand. This all creates a very loud HUMMMMM, (jokingly in the key of D for any musicians out there). Jokes aside though, it's very loud sitting next to my tv and stereo. I can muffle the vibration a little by holding the plumbing I did in a variety of ways and plan on securing the plumbing with insulation and straps to hold everything tight against the wood stand. This only minimizes the hum by the way. It doesn't eliminate it. If this method doesn't work I'd like to know how I'm going to figure it out or else I will have no choice but buy another pump. Over $100 is a LOT to throw away but this is by far the loudest thing running in the aquarium set up and it's ALL vibration. Somehow minimize the vibration it creates and it would be a nice pump but sheesh, should I have to DIY the thing like crazy to make it useable?

Let me start by saying that I invested heavily in my system to make sure that it was silent. I have spent 7-months "building it" with nearly custom everything. It is a 65G custom rimless Starphire setup with a Herbie overflow to a custom 20G rimless sump. The sump is sitting on 3/8" neoprene and the pump is sitting on a pump vibration pad from Bulk Reef Supply. The return and drain plumbing is all braided vinyl hose. So there is nothing connected which is fixed from the tank and stand to the sump. Everything is flexible, which should transfer no vibration and noise.

For the past week, I have been testing my system out with pure RO/DI water. There is absolutely nothing in the tank to clog or get in the impeller of the pump. And everything else is brand new. Several days ago, the pump has started to make a rather annoying vibrating, rattling sound. The sound gets louder as I increase the intake volume using the adjustable volute. Keep in mind I have only had this pump running for a week in pure RO/DI water and nothing else.

I thought the other reviewers were having problems because of user error or that their systems may have not been designed with silence in mind. However, now I agree with the other reviewers wholeheartedly. This pump is noisy and the sound keeps us up at night. This is with the tank in a completely different room. I am in the process of trying to find another pump. This was just going to be a temporary pump until the new Waveline pumps are available and then be a backup pump in case I ever needed it. However, I am returning this because I don't even want to keep it as a backup pump.

I've had it in my 50g reef tank a year with no issues. I havent even cleaned it. It did vibrate when it was touching the side glass, but I moved it and its basically silent now. People comment on how quiet my tank is. Its never failed to start or done anything funny. I've owned a few of these pumps on various things from skimmers to nano tanks and they're great.

Functions as intended. Quiet, I mean super quiet. Suction cup feet are practically worthless, I had to balance the pump on them in the wet/dry, they do not install securely to the pump. That's the only reason I did not give it 5 stars.

Want Sicce Syncra 3.0 Aquarium Pump, 714gph Discount?

The pump is quiet, very well made, small for its output, came with 2x adapters to fit 0.75 and 1" hose, and makes very little heat my tank temperature dropped the day after I replaced my Mag drive 9.5.

The plastic casing is high quality, not brittle and easily discolored like other brands. The tool-less maintenance is a huge plus, as is the fused magnet-ceramic shaft impeller, which won't

slow the pump down as it cannot lock up with calcium precipitate. The ends of the ceramic shaft are seated in ceramic bushings, which also resist precipitation.

I will update this review when I perform my first maintenance/cleaning.

Laguna PowerJet 2400 Electronic Fountain Pump Kit

Laguna PowerJet 2400 Electronic Fountain Pump KitI just purchased the PowerJet 2400 and the pump cage was improperly assembled at the factory. The top was forced during assembly and broke a hole in the top of the cage. I spoke with a Laguna (Hagen) representative who expected me to ship the unit to them and they would decide the course of action. This is completely unacceptable as I need a pump now. Their attitude of "the customer is wrong until proven right" is not one I care to do business with. I expect to receive a non-defective product whenever I buy something and sure do not expect to pay freight to return their defective product to them.

10/18/2010 I patched up the broken portion and have been using this pump continuously for almost 2 years and it has functioned perfectly. The small holes in the cage do plug up with algae growing on the screen and in some particularly heavy growth periods it has to be cleaned frequently. I have compared several pumps and this is the lowest wattage pump for the flow rate I have found. Actual measurements even taking consideration of the power factor it draws only 83 Watts. I am completely satisfied with the pump and am considering another only this time the Max Flo pump for the larger holes in the cage.

I chose this pump because it is the direct replacement for the one I replaced in my small fish pond. The price was the best I found by far and I received the pump sooner than was expected.

API Aquarium Salt

API Aquarium Salt, 65-OunceHi, this salt is very good for gill function and helps enhance treatments when using medications to battle parasites and diseases in your aquarium. It helps your fish relax and breath normally when dosing your tank with strong medicines that could cause stress. Should only be used when needed, but a bit of salt after your waterchanges wouldn't hurt at all. Make sure to dissolve in water before adding to aquarium.

This salt is actually about the same if not, cheaper than most kitchen sea salt, rock salt etc. Also, some [Non-Iodized] Kitchen salts contain different caking agents other than iodine to prevent salt from clumping up. This aquarium salt is PURE sea salt with no additives so this is your safest route.

Salt is the safest natural way to treat first signs of white spot disease also known as ich. In other words this will only be effective in the early stages and minor infections, if your fish is covered in ich then I suggest using medications with the combination of salt for maximum effectiveness.

Add 1 Tablespoon of salt per 10 gallons, if your fish show no signs of stress feel free to add another 1 Tablespoon of salt per 10 gallons. Then you want to get the heat up to about 85-88 degrees. In order to do this, you have to raise the temperature slowly about 1-2 degrees every hour. Monitor your fish, if they are breathing rapidly the temperature is too high. When you notice some spots disappearing it is important to do atleast a 25% water change to get rid of the parasites in its free swimming stage. Continue treating for another week AFTER you see no spots to ensure you get rid of all the ich.

Warning: Please do research on your fish before using salt. Generally salt is not harmful but if your fish are scaleless or sensitive to salt it can cause death from shock if introduced to your aquarium in large amounts at once.

Here's my super long review on aquarium salt to those who read it, Please let me know if it was helpful. Thanks!

Adding this product to your aquarium helps to keep your fish healthy and even lowers stress levels. Many freshwater tropical fish still like a slight saltiness to the water. As long as you follow the dosing direction on the box, you should have absolutely no problem with this product.

Things to Remember...

Only add additional salt after you have completed a water change and only add enough salt to dose the amount of water you replaced. Also, do not just top the water level off in your tank if water evaporates. This will just make the salt concentration higher.

Overall, I highly recommend this.

Buy API Aquarium Salt Now

I have used this brand before when my preferred brand is out of stock at the store. The primary issue with it is that it is rather difficult to get it to dissolve, you must melt it in scolding hot water then cool the water down prior to adding it into your tank.

Good aquarium salt in an easy to pour container. I use this for water changes and it works well, doesn't jump my Nitrate levels, and seems to do well by my fish. Happy with the product for the price and will buy again.

Aquarium salt is the secret to a great aquarium. It prevents disease, makes the fish healthier, and it keeps the water in prestine condition. Throw away all of the other products; all you need is water conditioner and this.

Cat DJ Scratching Deck (by Suck UK)

Cat DJ Scratching DeckI admit it's a cute idea. And if you buy it, have a camera ready as you never know when it'll truly look like your cat is "dj-ing." But it's NOT worth the money and not durable whatsoever.

I was very disappointed when I opened this item. First, I couldn't believe it fit in such a small, flat package. But it did because it's basically just a box you fold together and it's supposed to stay together with tabs that stick in the inserts. Some wouldn't even hold and I had to tape them. No biggie though. It does have a creative design on the box, and the round scratching area does spin. However, my cats (who have loved ALL scratching items) did not take to this one. After about 10 seconds of interest (which I believe was mainly from the catnip), they never touched it again.

My two cats tear the crap out of ALL their scratching toys, except for this one. They prefer the $10 or so ACTUAL boxes that have replacement scratching areas to buy when needed (you take the old one out of the box and put the new scratcher inside it). They've scratched up their cat tree IMMENSELY! They also scratched up another round scratching item I got them (that includes a plastic 'ball holder' that's attached all around the area to be scratched so they can also play with the ball, swat at it & try and catch it, etc). But this one didn't appeal to them (or me).

The round area that they actually scratch is a lot smaller and thinner than I expected. Perhaps the size of it is the reason they never 'took' to it.

I also did not like this item (and not just because my cats didn't). I would never pay that much money for a folding box. I thought it would arrive as shown or with some assembly, but I wasn't expecting just a flimsy box with the DJ design on it. I was expecting something MUCH more durable or sturdy. This has been used by my cats once mainly by just sniffing the catnip I added to it. They barely scratched it. I DID get some cute pictures when they sat on it (and my male cat is twice the size of this thing!) He also loves to lay in or tear up boxes, so I thought he'd at least get a kick out of doing that (which I wouldn't have minded as he would have had fun in SOME way & got SOME use out of this). But it's just been sitting in my basement untouched ever since I got it.

It may be a better item for a kitten. For whatever reason, my cats, as I said, have torn up every scratching toy I've gotten them, with the exception of this one. And I was not happy at how flimsy it was and that I paid so much money for a box that folds together (and some parts of it wouldn't even stay together). Sorry, but I do not recommend this.

There is only one word that properly describes this product: pawsome. My three year old kitten, Chairman Meow, was absolutely blown away by the Suck UK Cat Scratch. He was so excited he continuously purred whilst spinning some "phat" beats and threw up several hairballs resulting in a trip to the vet. A few days and $1300 in bills later, Chairman Meow was back up at his Cat Scratch once again trying to make his name in the DJing world. He changed his name to DJ Paws n Claws and has been traveling extensively in Europe, performing gigs and he now has a house in Amsterdam.

Pros: DJ Paws n Claws is now a rising artist in the European house music scene and regularly sends me checks in the mail. I can now live a life of leisure sipping on Tuscan Whole Milk, 1 Gallon, 128 fl oz and I have upgraded from my trailer to a modest houseboat.

Cons: DJ Paws n Claws has been pretty uppity lately, he's taken to smoking cigarettes and is hanging out with a "Dead Mouse". His new-found attitude has found its way to my new shag carpet, as he thinks that he's above the litter box and can take a huge dump wherever he likes.

Ultimate decision: Go ahead and get it. Even though my cat now takes dumps on the carpet due to the Suck UK Cat Scratch I am living the life that I deserve. My new girlfriend, Linda, isn't missing any of her incisors like my previous girlfriend Crystale.
