It's okay. I have red and black gravel and thought that the color would add to the scheme of the tank. But it really doesn't. It's not a bad item, but it really looks fake and I hide it among other decorations to improve its appearance. It may come out if I see that it detracts from the overall look of the tank. Aqua-Glo Fluorescent Bulb, 14 Watt, 15 Inches
Not much to say, it's just a good price for a replacement bulb for my fish tank.It was the exact same brand that had burned out (after 7 years and a move to a different state) so it's not like i did a ton of research and decided this was the best.
I did notice, it was the cheapest for it's size and wattage on amazon, and it works so there ya go, buy it already

I ordered this fishnet for use in a 55 gallon freshwater tank. I have other net's (one that came with the tank, one purchased separately) and this net is a much nicer product overall for a number of reasons:* The net is made of very fine netting material which is the main reason I purchased it. This net was bought to be able to capture some of the smaller catfish in the tank if needed.
* The fine netting prevents the whiskers and fins from catching which could injure or kill the fish.
* The handle is very long at 2 feet and easily reaches in the tank without having to get my hands wet or disturbing the other fish.
* The handle is made of metal (not sure if aluminum, but looks like stainless steel) and is very durable, yet lightweight.
* The net is large enough to catch some of the larger cichlids and plecostomus
I have only used the net a few times (less than a dozen), but it exceeded my expectations for use, balance, weight and overall construction. Again, I purchased this net to use with the catfish, but it works equally well catching all other fish as well. I strongly recommend you consider this net over the larger netting of others as well as due to it's construction. This net was delivered to me, well packaged, within 3 days of purchasing it on Amazon (to an Atlanta address) which was equally unexpected.

Sick of getting your hand dirty in the water? Then this baby is for you. I got the 5x4 and it is perfect with a 24 inch handle length. Nothing negative to say about it. Stainless steal and a nice blue net that is large enough to fit a smaller or medium fish if you have to take it out. These 4 compact foam rings had me wide eyed when I opened the filter for a spring clean-up. Over the winter, I ran this filter without the waterfall. My fish remained healthy. The foam kit was loaded with gunk due to being unattended for months. The water flow continued full force despite my neglect. After a thorough cleaning, I reused them until I decided to re-order. I unplugged the pond heater, and turned the UV light back on. In 3 days, my algae was gone and the water was, and still is, clear as glass. This system gives me big results with little effort. I am finally done searching for the right pond filter.Nice new clean filters. Good fit. The are a little more porous than the original filters.Hopefully they will last more than two seasons.

Two Little Fishies ATLPBR150 GFO PhosBan Reactor 150
I purchased two of these TLF reactors so that I could run them in series. I decided to run D-Nitrate in One and Activated Carbon in the other to try and bring the Nitrate/Nitrite numbers down in my 75 gallon ref. To early to tell yet whether these two have actually reduced my numbers, but there is no doubt that the water in the tank is now more crystal clear than before. Is it the carbon in the reactor along with less feeding that is clearing up the water cloumn, or is it just the fact that the Reef is now more mature than it was before this installation? Only time will tell how effective these are in reducing the Nitrate level in the reef. As for hooking them up in series, they do require some minor engineering and plumbing alterations, but if you are adpt at working with a refugium, and a somewhat sophisticated sump, this should be a piece of cake. I say should because I have a great plumbing supply house nearby, with a great salesman who will stop at nothing to keep the number of pieces in play to get this running at a minimum. If you only have a Lowes or Home Depot nearby, or a good hardware store, you can generally find the necessary items there to accomplish the task. I would have rated these a 5 "Star" item had I found the inclusion of the necessary plumbing parts included in the original packaging. As far as bang for the buck is concerned, these certainly meet that criteria and i would highly reccommend them to other mixed reef keepers looking to inexpensively add Phosphate or nitrate reactors to their systems.

Just like other reviews say, it does exactly what it says it does in a durable fahion. Evenly pass water through your phosphate media to get rid of of phosphates and ultimately control algae. Very happy with mine. I've used about 4 different styles of air stone and this one definitely has the potential to be the coolest:it sinks
it's flexible and light so easy to shape for your exact needs.
Unfortunately, it's the only one I have that keeps clogging. It's easy enough to clear it. But, every time it clogs I have to wonder how long it's been clogged and not doing it's job. It's not easy for me to check and see if it's working properly. And, there's no obvious reason for the clogging the water is totally clear no debris or anything. I don't get it.
It's a shame because I would have bought more I think the design is really clever.
Give it a try your mileage may vary...

This works like any other air stone, but is easier to place in the tank since it doesn't float up, and has no feet that need to be put into gravel to keep it from floating. Also, it is flexible, making it easy to fit in any tank configuration. After some use however, it does float at the free end. Hagen Fluval Surface Skimmer
I had really high hopes for this, especially after reading other reviews, but after a year of use, I'm not sure i would recommend it.good:
* low cost. way lower than so many other surface skimmers
* adjusts to water evaporation (see below though)
* attaches to your current filter/skimmer
* has a top and a bottom intake that you can adjust, which allows you to balance it depending on how powerful your pump is. this is a little hard to describe why this is good unless you have one..
bad:
* it uses an air pocket under the top of the skimmer to keep the top part on the surface. I don't know why they don't just put styrofoam or something that's permanently floating. This design is tenuous. it's kinda like balancing a ball at the top of a hill. typically for me, the movement of the water eventually dislodges some of the air, then the thing sinks and is no longer a skimmer.
* the suction cups it uses to attach to the glass wears out. And if it's not attached firmly, the whole thing becomes ineffective because it doesn't hold the surface intake part on the surface.
frustrating. This is ALMOST an awesome product. If it had a mechanism for better attachment to the glass (e.g. magnet) and a better flotation for the surface collector, it'd be awesome. as it is, i wouldn't recommend this product.
Previously, I had a sponge prefilter on my intake pipe. I could still have one--just cut a short 2" piece of foam and slip it over the lower intake.
There are some bubbles being entrained into the intake from the surface water being sucked in. This has not been an issue. However, those with CO2 injected tanks should understand that outgassing of CO2 will occur from this area. This may not be a problem with intermittent activation--turn the center adjuster for a brief period when surface scum accumulates, then turn off most of the surface flow once the surface scum is cleared (takes about 20" or so).

This product does what it says and removed surface film from your tank but it is very cheap to the touch and I didn't keep it in the tank. It removed the film within 2 days, 90 gallon salt tank. The film was back a few days later but I didn't want to put this back in. Main complain I have is the dependence on water level and how hard it is to set up and get working properly. I don't know if buying the carbon in a one pack is the same as buying it in the 3 pack, but the 3 pack carbon I bought from Aquaclear had an eerie odor when I opened the packages. The bag used to collect tank gunk doesn't hold the finest materials, resulting in extremely cloudy water. I had to clean it by siphon after attempting to clean with the Battery Vac. Also, it's difficult to start. You have to slightly unscrew the battery chamber for the metal contacts to start the motor. Siphoning is far better and safer for the fish.

I do not use gravel in my tank, I use rocks and shells. This did a good job of sucking up debris and capturing it in the bag to reduce the amount of rotting material in the tank. I did have to move the rocks around with the tube to get to the debris.Cons: Plastic housing breaks easily, elecctrical contacts and crude switch do not work reliably (think, cheap flash light) is not intended to remove stale amonia rich water and actually distributes amonia throughout the tank.
In summary, picks up your fish's litter but brakes easily and does not have the 'water change' effect of a siphon. Battery lasts a long time. Intentianally week suction so as to not endanger fish.

I have used these before, years ago, on smaller tanks. Doesn't reach bottom of 50 gal tank to well, had to extend tube. But, worked just like I remembered, just fine.

This look great in a tank, for a while. They sink because water gets into the air pocket that is supposed to keep them floating. You have to squeeze the water out of the pocket every few days. My 3 year old loves them but I am sick of fixing them because they are "sleeping" and are lying on the bottom of the tank. I like it but they are continually sinking. If you dont mind continually reaching into the tank and redoing them, then you would be happy.
Marina Decorative Gravel - 1 lbs
As far as the gravel goes, it is a nice product (good quality, color, etc). However, I've never weighed a pound of gravel before, so wasn't sure how much I was getting. I only have a small 6 gallon aquarium, so I knew I wouldn't need much, but boy was I in for a surprise. 1 lb of this is about 1.5 fists full for me.... just in case any shoppers out there aren't sure what to expect. I got 3 bags of this... which was no-where near enough. On top of that, the price (which seemed great at the time) is way over what is reasonable for the product. I wound up going to my local PetSmart to get more gravel and found the same brand in a 5 lb bag for only $1 more than I paid here for a single bag. Needless to say not a great experience. Some of you readers may think that it is my fault for not knowing how much 1 pound of gravel is. Well... sure. I wasn't prepared in that regard. However, the price is way out of line with the going price for gravel. I'm not sure why its so expensive here, when pet stores tend to be far more costly than what I find on Amazon. However, look at your local stores first before clicking "place order".
