Marina Hang-On Breeding Box, Small

My son really likes all things that are related to aquariums. He really likes this separate little tank when he needs it.

This box did just what it said. I've used it to acclimate my fish. It is very easy to set up. The water flow rate is very simple to adjust and works well. The only negative, and I knew this from the description, was that I could not hang it on the back of the aquarium. My stand is against the wall and there is not enough space behind the aquarium to do this. Also, I have a Marineland cover which hinges on the back. That and the glass canopy under the cover would not allow it to hang on the back either. This was easily remedied. As it was not meant as a permanent fixture, I hung it on the front of the aquarium and allowed the canopy and cover to rest on it in front. It wasn't opened very wide. The cover was still effective in stopping most evaporation and allowed the in-cover light to do its job. The result: the fish were happily acclimated.

Shipping was great got here days after ordering even tho it said it would take much longer. The color of the gravel however is not as shown. It is much lighter and nothing special. petco's is the same orange and costs a couple bucks less. if bought in stores a lot less. Dont waste your money unless the only thing you are worried about is a quick delivery.

I was skeptical about this light at first because it was so cheap compared to other reef lighting. I finally bought one to see. It was sent from China to my house, but it was packaged very good and arrived in perfect condition. I have had it on my 60 gallon reef tank for two weeks now and I just ordered another. It is very nice looking and very bright, it runs very cool and the fans are quiet. Compared to my 250w mh well there is no comparing! Some mh fans might disagree but its true these lights are just as bright and even look better! The blue leds really make the corals pop! My acros look amazing everything looks like it is glowing! My tank is 24in deep and the light is bright enough for that. I do like that they use 3w leds at 2w because they are much brighter than the 1w led fixtures. I had a light that used 1w X 120w from ledwholesalers it was 350$ and it stopped working after 3 days. They wouldn't send a new one until i sent the broke one back! So I said f off. I got a refund. i am glad i did because now I have found this light. No reef lighting manufacture out there has lights that compare to this for 155$. Great BUY!!!!!!

I'm not the sort of person who writes reviews, and have always spent more, and gotten less... maybe a reversal of current, for me. This product came packaged very well, not a painted box with picture, strait brown....BUT from the time I opened the box, I had confidence, they packaged it like they cared about THIER product.....it was as secure as any item should be...this spoke volumes to me. Plugged them in, and I'm now a full fledged reef tank owner, can start buying the sps and clams, with lights that are clean, bright, built well, cost effective, and cost effective again, once for the low wattage and once for the 50,000 or so hours. I have two lights, 8 inches over a 90 gallon all the inhabitants have perked up.....give them a try, I don't think you will be disappointed, shipping was fast.

This a great product for the price but there is one catch that im going to share with you all. I ordered 2 of these units recently and when i received them i realized that there were two different units that looked very similar but were waaay different in quality. When i wrote Tao Tronics about this they said that i had received both a newer version and an older version of the same model. The "older' version had a reflective material over the LED's and the "newer " version was missing this material and was plain white where you could see the soldering of the wires to each LED. The older version was also less brighter and a different color than the newer version when lit, had cheap hanging supplies which were shorter than the newer version, the fans were 3 times louder as well. It wasnt even close to thier new and improved version but yet they still charged the same. They said they'd send me a newer version if i sent the old one back and then they sent me another older version. So i returned THAT older version too and got a refund. Then i created a whole new order in which they sent me a newer one. So now i have 2 of the newer units and let me just tell you, they are awesome and i still cant believe they are so cheap!!!If you buy these lights, make sure you check to see that are the newer versions like i described above, if not send it back and try again til you do. DONT GET CHEATED! I told Tao Tronics that its bad business to sell older models for the same price just to clear out thier back stock . They said they have no control over it. So do not allow them to get away with ripping people off and send it back if it has reflective material over the LEDS. Maybe theyll sell those old models for less instead of trying to get over on people. I hope this helps some of you get the most bang for your buck

I read a lot of reviews when I am buying a new product, but I often fail to write them. In this case, I cannot overlook the way I was treated when one of my two TaoTronics Reef Light had a little issue.

First let me tell you about the light set itself. I have had these running for 11 ours a day for the past 13 months. I have a 90 Gallon Reef tank with around 39 species of coral, ranging from SPS, to LPS and Zoas and Mushrooms. I started my tank 13 months ago and after doing a whole month of research and wanting to by a s very expensive sets of lights (AI brand at around $430 each) I decided to go against the advice from every pet store that I went into and after watching a video on YouTube from a fellow hobbyist who purchased a white version of this light set, I decide to buy some for myself.

My tank is bealtiful the coral growth is EXCELLENT, all of my rocks are covered with coraline algae, my coral have growed from 3X to 8x depending on the species. One month ago I had an issue with one of the lights, the blue LEDs went of.

I freaked out because I did not want to lose any of my coral. So I contacted TaoTronics since they have a 2 years warranty. They Contacted me back on the same day and gave me instructions to try troubleshoot the issue. After going through the steps and the issue was still there, I contacted them again. They issued me a RMA (return merchandise authorization) so I could return the defective one and if the issue was as described they would send me a new one upon receiving the defective one.

But, wait here is the best part. My wife accidentally shipped the defective set on regular ground. When I informed them of the fact that I was afraid of coral loss, they shipped me the replacement on express delivery, meaning the replacement arrived at my house even before they even got my defective unit.

The blue light is definitely not working. Both sides of the power supply work with the white light but neither work with the blue.

I did a little research and found that Bettas like to rest on leaves....I did a little more searching and found that there are certain leaves and plants they like better than others. I was told that this one was a good product for the fish so I ordered it. I thought it would be a little bigger when it arrived, and it did have a funky smell. We cleaned it numerous times to rid it of the smell and stuck it in his tank. To this day he avoids it so we removed it. It's an okay fake plant, but I wouldn't buy it again. Having tried other algaecide I decided on this one, GreenClean. Followed directions for the amount to use for my small pond and after finding foam on top the water a little later and then disapating within a few days there was no noticeable difference in the green pond. No dead algae to scoop out of the pond, but as an added plus it did kill the goldfish, so I give it rave reviews for being a fish killer but zero review for algae killer.

Of course there is no money back guarantee, so I'm stuck, again with a product that I will just put in the weekly trash pickup.

Save your money, please, unless of course you like throwing money away. If you do then buy this product to kill your fish, if you have any to kill.

But to get rid of algae look somewhere else.

The main product works great, a geared down motor spins the auger slowly, durable made unit, comes with covers for outdoor use. The unit itself I recommend for portion control of small to medium dog food pieces etc, which i use it for. One of the mounting plastic pieces where broken on arrival, called the manufacturer (US importer) number and they sent a new one promptly.

The timer is another story, the first one worked for 20 minutes, the second one they sent me has issues, wiggling the plugged in plug will contsantly leave the output on, cheap stuff. Resulution is to the second so the chip in it is ok.

Just wanted to let other fish people know, this filter is the same size & shape as the Marineland Mini Penguin Cartridge.

My 10 gallon has a Marineland filter. I found a box of Aqua Tech filters at my local pet shop on sale for $2 and noticed that they look exactly the same as my Penguin Rite Size A filters. They work perfectly. So I figured I would look up the Aqua-Tech brand on Amazon since they usually have better prices than the stores. Turns out, the Aqua Tech brand seems to be more expensive than Marineland. As of this post, Marineland's Mini Penguin cartridges are sold on Amazon in a box of 6 filters for about $10 and qualifies for Super Saver Shipping. Which compared to $12 plus shipping for 3 cartridges is a pretty good deal.

I like to save money where I can and hopefully this bit of info helps someone else save money too.

These work wonderful in our little 5 gallon tank. We have 2 fish named Sushi and Freckles. They are pretty dirty boys so this this actually keeps up with them.

This Aqua-Tech filter cartridge fits my Aqua-Tech 5-15 Gallon Aquarium Power Filter. We just rinse it in water before putting it in the filter. It needs to be replaced every two to four weeks per the instructions.

We have goldfish, which always seem to dirty water more quickly than some other fish. So far, so good. Our little five gallon tank is clear and doesn't stink.
