Tetra Pond Bio-Active Pressure Filters

TetraPond Bio-Active Pressure Filters BP2500This is really an extraordinary product in its class. I have run thru a series of unsatisfactory flimsy overpriced filters; this one for very little more is superbly sturdy, well functioning, complete in itself. The self cleaning feature is awesome -eliminating a time consuming and dirty task. Hats off!

I've owned many filters in the past five years. This is by far the best and well worth the money. There are less expensive backflush models (I had a Sundra that lasted a year at best and was a constant battle to clean and keep from leaking). I have had this filter for several months and am amazed that in less than 5 minutes I can clean my skimmer and the filter. This filter came with a UV light which is an added bonus at this price.

I have a pond with about 2,000 3,000 gallons, but because I have approximately 20 Koi the pond was a lot of upkeep prior to this filter. Know it's no effort.

I wish the intake and output holes were larger. My pump discharges a 1.5" pipe and I have to reduce it to a 1.25" pipe in order to connect to this filter. I had it for about a year now and it works well.

Received as promised from Amazon. Installed filter to my 1000 gallon fish pond. Has been installed and running for 5 days now and already I can see the difference. My prior filter was to small, over the years my fish population has grown. So a new filter was in order. Tetra Pond Bio-Active Pressure Filter is working perfectly. On installation, I dug a hole and used the 20 gallon bucket (from a big box home store for around $10) and sat the filter in the bucket. I used 11/2" PVC pipe as my backwash with a union to make it easy to disconnect for winter storage. The only downside is it's all plastic, so be careful when tightening all fittings, I also recommend using

teflon tape on the fittings. 5 stars for both Amazon and Tetra!

After looking at many filters I decided on this one to go along with the Tetra Pond Debris-Handling Pump DHP3600.

My pond would not stay clear with my old pump and filter combo.

this filter and pump combo worked very well and with in 2 days i could already tell a difference that the pond was clearing. Using the back flush was a lot easier and more efficient than my old combo.

the only issue i have with this set up is the hose connections. to remove the hoses from the filter you need to undo the hose clamps which can be a minor inconvenience.

after about a week i had to open up the filter and clean it as a ton of sludge build up in there, i have back flushed it once since then and all is going well.

over all I am very happy with this filter.
