The only reason I bought this is I saw it in a picture on a tank box at a local box store and thought it came in it. When I opened it, no Dumb Dumb. (If you are wondering why I am saying that, watch Night at the Museum. My son's loved that movie so when I saw this, I knew he would want it.) So came on Amazon to find one and success! The price is so,so but it seems to be very well made and looks nice and the look on my son's face was priceless.

I bought this heater for my 5 gallon planted shrimp tank. It fits perfectly into the tank, hides well in a corner (it is black, straight and designed to fit into a corner) and hands-free. No adjustments necessary and keeps my tank temperature well within acceptable range. Has a dim red light that is only visible when tank light is off. I like it that it is completely submersible and unobtrusive. Many of my friends have been impressed with its sleek style and the fact that it really doesn't look like a heater. If I felt like hiding it even more I could put it near the bottom of the tank, but I choose to leave it upright. My shrimp like to hang out on the top of it near the water's surface.

I ordered this along with my 6 gallon fluval tank, and I take it out of the box and try to set it up, one this is the top suction cup was warped so it would not stick on properly, second the heater did not even turn on when I plugged it in, no light or heat. This gravel cleaner is perfect to clean not only the intended Edge tanks but any other tank since it consist of a plastic tube with a hose. There are no compatibility issues as some reviewers seem to suggest. It's too simple for having a problem. And the size of the tank you are cleaning has an importance mostly based on your style and preferences. I prefer to take my time and clean thoroughly every spot I want. This cleaner allows me to do that in a 29 gallon aquarium because a so-called "ideal" gravel cleaner for that size (namely a 2" tube with a 1/2" hose) would suck a bucket of water every 30 seconds or so, which is way too fast in my opinion. So, what you have to keep in mind when selecting a gravel cleaner is the debit of water sucked per second, and that is given by the diameter of the hose. It's a concept that everyone who went to a high school should know: Venturi effect. Every gravel cleaner on the market has basically the same flow speed ratio between the tube and the hose. The difference observed by users is obviously given by the fact that the diameters of the hoses are different from one cleaner to another. A better understanding of the suction power would be to consider what would happen if only a hose would be used, making abstraction of the gravel.

I had a cheaper feeder on my 30 gal tank. I put more fish in the tank than the feeder could feed. Because this feeder has the option to feed twice in a row, I am able to feed all my fish. My old feeder has a skinny drum with a dispenser centrally located. This one has a wide drum with the dispenser off to the side. This means that the amount of food my fish get depends, in part, on the amount of food left in the drum. Eventually food has to be added before the drum empties. My old feeder can empty the drum on it's own. Another problem with the position of the dispense is that is dumps food over a wide ark. This product works great once it is set up. Make sure you read the instructions for proper programing. I have a wooden lighting/top on my 55 gal tank and just drilled a 1 1/4 inch hole along one side away from the lights and air tubes. Then I put a piece of paper over the hole and manually ran the unit in different spots until I found the spot where only a minimal amount of food did not fall and drew an outline of the unit position on the top and removed the paper for use. The original batteries are still operating since I started using it in the beginning of June. Recommendation don't let the unit get less than half full and make sure if your flakes are large that you crush them up a little so the scoop works effectively. My fish are happy and I am happy. I go away for long weekends or vacations and they are fine!
I started a new 36 gallon freshwater tank and used SeaChem Stability to kick-start it. Added a few fish immediately (4 danios, 4 cherry barbs) and things went perfectly. Water is balanced, clear, and cleanmy fish are thriving. Definitely helps reduce tank shock. You still need a dechlorinator and the best filter you can afford; I use a Rena Filstar XP2 and am very happy. Avoid overfeeding and use a good quality food (NOT TopFin!!!).

I have used this product multiple times to start quarantine tanks and hospital tanks (marine tanks, with both fish and coral.) It works; it's worked every time. I've never had my tanks spike ammonia or nitrite when using this product as directed. I'm amazed how many websites & forums claim that no such product exists. Also, the reviewer who says that you have to keep using it is wrong, for so many reasons (the bacteria don't get used up and die, they multiply, just like all bacteria, and also, all of the bacteria that would normally be in your tank if you cycle the traditional way will also still exist in the tank.) I've never used the product beyond 7 days, not even with water changes, and my tanks have never "crashed" when I stopped using this. This product has worked for me and the people I know who use it. Whether it's for starting a new tank or for use after killing the bacteria bed when medicating a tank. I've seen it cull a nitrite spike and keep new tank syndrome from happening. For larger tanks, a bottle wouldn't last long, but it's definitely worth it. I mean, who wants to wait to start a tank, or who wants to watch their fish die from ammonia or nitrite poisoning. So I would get a 500 mL bottle if you have anything bigger than a 20 or 29 gallon. I have been using Stability as a backup for quite some time. I think it is good at providing bacteria that help process waste that settles on the bottom. Great compliment to the regular nitrifying bacteria that grow in the ordinary course.

You shouldnt have an aquarium without one of these. Especially a reef tank to scrape off coraline and algae from the glass.
It's a cool looking ornament... and really looks excellent in my 5 gallon tank. Buyer beware there is a sizable hole in the back and the underside is hollow, so there is a cave. The hole is jagged so I'm afraid it's going to tear my betta's fins, but it's easy enough to fill in with gravel and the rest of the edges don't seem to hurt my him.
The plastic faucet adapter that comes with Python started to be stripped after the first usage! As a result there would be leaks at the faucet when it was used and I had to wrap a rag around it to absorb the water. I have had this metal adapter now for a month. No leaks.

The plastic thread wears down really quickly, so I decided to get this one instead and it is much better in terms of how well it fits on, and the life of it as well.
This piece has an odd odor inside. As I cleaned it for my tank I noticed the paint was coming off the underneath. Each time I scrubbed more came off. I left it a few days, wet it and scrubbed again. More paint came off and the odor is till there. Since this happens with clear water, I decided NOT to put it in my tank. I fear the finish will come off slowly and pollute my tank and fish. I ordered two, so now they sit on my shelf.

For the price, it is hard to complain. It is solidly built. It has enough weight to stay in place. yes it is large, but I like that about it. I bought a couple of these. I have used them in 10-55 gal tanks. In the smaller tank they are used with my fry so they have a place to hid and so they don't get sucked into the filter. I would have given 5 stars if the was a way to add an airstone to better aerate the bubbles. If you have a small tank and no top you may get some water mist splashing out. If you have a lid no problems. I'll buy again. Don't clean under tap water though. Nothing that will harm the filter, but the chlorinated water will kill the helpful bacteria that form in the sponge media. Clean the filter out in a bucket of tank water when you do a water change.
