API Reef Master Test Kit
I have used Salifert, Elos, Redsea and a bunch of others. While it's really hard to guage the accuracy of all these kits, one can assume at least +/10% readings. With the API kit I see small enough changes reflected in the readings to give me confidence that it's within the ball Park of ELOS and Salifert, so at a the current price API is a clear winner. I also like that these tests are simpler to preform than most of the others, so thats a real plus.
Still, I would definitely recommend this kit to anyone that has a reef tank.

Simply put having a test kit is essential for any reef aquarium keeper. I only have a 28-gallon tall aquarium with just soft corals, a feather duster, a few damsels & a couple of cleaner shrimp. The API Reef Master Kit is well packaged and everything is labeled very clearly. I sometimes have difficulty interpreting the nitrate and phosphate tests as the results are limited to viewing color code charts of different shades of green and orange. For example when I conduct the test for nitrates, my resulting shade of green from my test tube is in the range of .50 to 1.0 as my best guess instead of .50 or 1.0.The instructions are very well written and easy to follow although I can't help, but notice API's intentional attempt at product placement by their brand. For example if your test kit yields a high result for phosphates, the instructions recommends that you purchase & use API's Phos-Zorb to help reduce phosphates in addition to conducting water changes & removing waste. If you have low calcium levels you can use API's Eco Calcium Marine to increase calcium levels. If your nitrates are high you can use API Tap Water Filter to help reduce nitrates in addition to water changes & the removal of waste.
Some other reviewers have complained about the absence of the ammonia test, but I have already owned API's ammonia test kit (with its different shades of yellow test results chart) that I used when I initially cycled my aquarium, so adding the reef master kit just supplemented to what I already have. Didn't need the instructions help to buy another API product for ammonia testing because I already did.
Overall an adequate test kit for the very important task of truly knowing what's in your aquarium water (or at least ballpark figure ranges) to help your corals, fish & invertebrates thrive successfully.

Aqueon Full-Spectrum Daylight T8 Fluorescent Lamp
This Aqueon 8000K bulb is a standard offering in many aquarium kits that include a hood and bulb. They are available in several lengths. I am reviewing the 48" bulb.We have four very colorful Shubunkin goldfish. When they were small, we had them in a standard 55-gallon aquarium that came equipped with the 8000K Aqueon bulbs. The tank had a dark navy blue background. The Aqueon 8000K bulbs were perfect for the combinations of colors in the fish (orange, brown, blue, silver, and white) as well as the dark solid color background. In fact, the colors of these fish were pleasingly vivid under this light.
After a year, the fish were getting too large for the 55-gallon tank, so we moved to a 120-gallon. I purchased a custom-made hood with a pair of HO T5 bulbs, one at 6500K, the other at 10,000K, because an 8000K bulb was not available in a T5. The T5 bulbs were extremely bright and lit the tank to the point I thought I'd have to buy sunglasses for the fish. Algae growth increased dramatically. The new lights also imparted a greenish cast to the navy blue background. And, the HO ballasts emitted a lot of heat.
I purchased a different hood that held a pair of T8 bulbs, trying several different combinations from ZooMed. It was amasing how slightly different C/T bulbs affected the colors of the fish, gravel, and background. Bulbs at 6500K literally turned the fishes' colors from vivid to very washed-out. I ultimately went back to the Aqueon 8000K bulb for the main light, and used a Zoo Med Coral Sun Actinic 420 Coral Bulb T8 32 Watts, 48-Inch in the second slot. Together, the 8K Aqueon and the Coral Sun Actinic 420 provide a very pleasing level of color and intensity of light to the 120-gallon tank. At night, shutting off the Aqueon and leaving the Coral Sun Actinic on by itself, lends a cool "moonlight glow" to the tank.
From my experience, I've learned that manufacturer's stated color/temperature ratings can vary quite a bit. Finding a bulb (or bulbs) that provide a pleasing level of color and intensity may require some trial and error.
If you have a tank with live plants, the Aqueon 8000K bulb may not provide the correct spectrum or intensity of light. We had a few plants in our tank, but the fish ate them almost as fast as we could replace them, so I can't report on how well the Aqueon bulbs will support a planted tank. YMMV.
Finally, we have been using the Aqueon 8000K bulbs in our tanks for over two years. We've never had a failure or problem with them.

I had bought some of this product years ago and use it in my canister filter for my freshwater aquarium. It hasn't broken down so I continue to use it. I love the look of it as it looks like saltwater live rock (but is a lot lighter kinda like lava rock). Biologically it probably works about as good as ceramic noodles or similar. Im and avid fish and shrimp hobbyist. And for exotic shrimp they must have the cleanest water possible. This thing is small, easy to setup and no power required. It only has a hose connector, in the winter you shouldnt run your hose or risk freezing up your pipes. So simply got to the lowe's and buy a hose adapter for your faucet aerator. It costs like $4. I will start off by saying that I am not hard to please and never really write a review if a product does half of what they will say it will do.... these pumps are cheap and that's what I expected (cheap pumps).I have a wave controller that turns on pump on while turning the other pump off. These pumps left alone would probably be fine, but they vibrate like crazy when being turned on, I thought I could deal with this until I woke up the next morning and both pumps were shaking so bad it looked like an epileptic seizure. I proceeded to turn the pumps off and give them one more chance (because I loved the price_), but I must say "these pumps are slated for a quick return".

When Amazon has them, they also have the best price on them. The fixture that came with my 20 gallon nanotank made the tank too hot. For tropicals, that's not an issue, but for marine tanks, it messes everything up. I have a nice Coralife fixture that sits in the center of the top and this light is perfect. I can use this and another compact fluorescent or I can use one compact fluorescent and a blue light. Amazon ships wicked fast and you will not find a better price. I know I haven't. I now just have tropicals in this tank, so just one of these bulbs gives a good light without making it too bright and causing an algae overgrowth.

This is a truly terrible product. I bought two bulbs, with one as backup for when the first burnt out. The first one burnt out after 2 weeks, which was disappointing. I replaced the bulb with my backup, which proceeded to burn out within 1 day. By contrast, my daytime bulb, which is just a generic incandescent white bulb, is working just fine. Both are housed in the same dual dome housing, so I doubt it's a problem with the housing. I moved the white bulb to the red bulb's socket to make sure, and it worked fine. I don't know exactly what is defective about these bulbs (perhaps an improper vacuum seal), but I would stay away from them.

Ok so i bought the Koralia 400gph to create a stronger current in my 30 gallon freshwater fish tank and it works just fine. It does the job i want it to do and thats make a small current because i have some small danio's (which love current btw) and i didnt want them to get sucked into it. Now the general rule of thumb for tanks is that you always go for a little more power than you need for anything but again becuase of my smaller fish i didnt. My little pond has a skimmer, so the floating pallets tend to get sucked into the skimmer box. I bought this ring in hope to contain the pallets. It sort of worked, but my 6 inch hungry kois kept moving the ring around and jumped all over it. So sometimes pallet can get out, and the ring can move in front of the skimmer blocking it. It's not working ideally for me. I don't know any way but to fasten it with a string, which is unsitely. The ring is not big enough. Right now I had put it away until my lillie pads appear, and the ring might work better between lillie pads to secure it.

It is a bit small the description says 4 inches but if your burying the bottom part in some gravel u can take off about an inch, so make that 3 inches. Be gentle when cleaning and removing these as the tree trunk comes out of the base easily but can be put back in. Overall very nice look and nice base. I pulled out the styrofoam "wall" because it looked cheap and actually took up an extra 1.5" of space inside. I inserted some dried wood and dowels for my mantis to climb up, and the place looks great! The glass and materials are pretty high quality, and it looks beautiful sitting on my kitchen counter. I ordered mine from Amazon, and it was delivered the next day with free shipping. This tank may be too small for lizards and snakes, but small frogs and critters should do fine.

I really like this terrarium. It is built well, and it is designed for optimal viewing of the creatures or plants inside of it. It comes with a great removable piece of foam in the back that is painted to look natural. The foam makes it easy to stick plants or decorations into and it also has room behind it to run wires without disturbing the natural appearance of your terrarium.I am personally using this for an arboreal tarantula, and it is absolutely perfect. The huge door in the front makes it quite easy to access the inside, and the screen lid is easily removable as well. The terrarium has a waterproof base that will hold about 2 inches of substrate. I would say that this terrarium is suitable for all kinds of small reptiles, amphibians, and arachnids. It is perfect for arboreal spiders like the Avicularia genus, although a larger enclosure may be required for an adult specimen. It would also be great for poison dart frogs, or anoles. I would not however use this item for any species that burrows, as it only allows for 2 inches of substrate.
This is a great purchase if you really want to have a beautiful display. It may be more expensive than a regular terrarium but I think it's well worth it.
